Biography —
Reagan Bender has worked in emergency response and emergency management since 2011, beginning as a volunteer EMT and firefighter before advancing to a paramedic role. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Emergency Responders Administration from Oklahoma State University–Oklahoma City. transitioning into emergency management in 2020 within public health preparedness, where he supported response efforts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and held multiple roles of increasing responsibility. In 2021, Reagan became an Emergency Planner for a large county, leading updates to the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and contributing to response operations following the Andover tornado. He later advanced to a Senior Emergency Management Specialist role in another county before joining the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2024 as an Emergency Management Specialist. Reagan now serves as Emergency Management Program Manager, leading programs that strengthen organizational preparedness, response, and resilience.
